Julian Cox
Julian Cox holds BSc(Hons) and PhD degrees in microbiology from UQ. He is currently semi-retired (yeah, right!), but serves as an Honorary Associate Professor in Chemical Engineering at UNSW, and formerly the Associate Dean (Education) in UNSW Science and Associate Dean (International) in UNSW Engineering. His teaching, which spans over 35 years, has ranged from his discipline to graduate capabilities and courses in professional perspective, identity, and practice, to staff development in university teaching. Further, his teaching marries his longstanding interest in graduate capabilities and use of peer review as a teaching strategy, with increasing use of technology for teaching and learning. He was the 2001 winner of ASM’s David White Excellence in Teaching Award.
