Rebecca Traub
Rebecca’s research covers the field of veterinary public health, with a focus on the diagnosis, epidemiology and control of neglected tropical diseases encompassing parasitic zoonoses, companion animal vector-borne diseases and human soil transmitted helminthiases. Much of her research work has been based in the Asia Pacific. Rebecca has published over 155 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters (https://orcid.org/0000-0002-7484-7592) with an h-index of 40. She has served as an expert consultant for the WHO, FAO, WOAH, Gates Foundation and the veterinary industry. Rebecca was the recipient of the Bancroft Mackerras Medal for Excellence by the Australian Society for Parasitology in 2019. She is the Founding Director of the Tropical Council for Companion Animal Parasites (www.troccap.com), a non-for-profit that provides best-practice recommendations and free educational resources and workshops to veterinarians on the diagnosis and treatment of companion animal parasites in the tropics. Prof. Traub is currently serving as President of the Australian Society for Parasitology.
