Emma L Sweeney

Dr Emma Sweeney is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research. She received her PhD in 2015 from Queensland University of Technology, where she characterised the role and pathogenesis of Ureaplasma spp. in adverse pregnancy outcomes. Dr Sweeney’s current research focuses on antimicrobial resistance in sexually-transmitted pathogens, with a particular focus on the emergence and spread of antimicrobial resistance in Mycoplasma genitalium.
