Parasitology is becoming a neglected part of microbiology in the developed world for various reasons, leading to loss of expertise in this area. In addition, close contact with animals and encroaching on their natural habitats, leads to accidental zoonotic infections by parasites little known to medical science. The concept of e-diagnosis took birth from the shortage of parasitologists around the world. In todays world of electronic media, it is easy to connect to others experts around the world to help each other and our patients - a practical one health undertaking. The talk will outline how this works in Australia with a few clinical examples.
